Joe Biden’s recent trip to California has raised eyebrows and sparked a flurry of online mockery. The former Vice President, notorious for his gaffes, lived up to his reputation as he stumbled off Air Force One in sneakers and was seen holding hands with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, evoking images of a nursing home reunion.

Social media users were quick to lampoon the 78-year-old President. Some drew parallels between the scene and a sequel to the classic film “On Golden Pond,” which features an elderly couple. The most biting critique likened Biden’s situation to the popular “Visiting Angels” commercial, suggesting that he might need some assistance himself.

While in San Francisco, Biden addressed his forthcoming announcement of sanctions on Russia over the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. He met with Navalny’s widow and daughter, Yulia and Dasha, praising their bravery. However, he fumbled their names, referring to Yulia as “Yolanda” before exiting without fielding any questions.

Perhaps the most alarming aspect of this visit was the stark contrast between Biden’s meeting with the Navalnys and his long-overdue encounter with the residents of East Palestine, Ohio. It took him over a year to finally meet with these citizens from a red, Trump-supporting area, only after realizing the state’s significance in the upcoming election.
