FEMA Supervisor Tells Aid Workers to Discriminate Against Trump Supporters [REPORT]

Hurricane Milton caused devastation in Florida, leaving millions without power and causing billions of dollars in economic losses. But in the aftermath, a shocking report has emerged about FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington instructing aid workers to avoid homes displaying Trump signs or flags when providing post-hurricane aid. This blatant discrimination is an outrage, particularly in a county where nearly 70% of residents voted for Trump.

The Daily Wire uncovered this disturbing guidance from Washington, who allegedly told workers to “avoid homes advertising Trump signs” and logged these homes in records with phrases such as “Trump sign no entry per leadership”. This discriminatory instruction led to at least 20 homes being skipped over for aid. One federal worker expressed their shock, stating “It’s almost unbelievable to think that somebody in the federal government would think that’s okay.” Another worker added “I volunteered to help disaster victims, not discriminate against them.”

When questioned, Chad Hershey, the FEMA supervisor above Washington, confirmed that they were taking action to address the situation. However, he also stated “While we believe this is an isolated incident, we have taken measures to remove the employee from their role and are investigating the matter to prevent this from ever happening again.” This response is concerning, as it suggests that Washington’s actions were not an isolated incident but rather a symptom of a larger issue within the organization.

FEMA released a statement condemning the actions of the employee and emphasizing their commitment to assisting all survivors regardless of political preference. They stated “we are deeply disturbed by this employee’s actions” and “we are horrified that this took place”. Despite this strong statement, it is concerning that Washington was not punished for her actions and was simply transferred to another county.

It is a shame that in times of crisis, some individuals allow their personal biases to dictate their actions. Aid should be provided to those in need regardless of their political beliefs. Discrimination of any kind has no place in our society, and it is disheartening to see it occur within a federal agency. The fact that this occurred in a county where the majority of residents support Trump makes it even more egregious.

In the aftermath of a devastating hurricane, the last thing anyone should have to worry about is being discriminated against for their political beliefs. This incident highlights the need for further training and accountability within organizations like FEMA to ensure that aid is provided to all in need without prejudice.
