Hoover Institution Senior Fellow Victor Davis Hanson recently warned that the Democrats could still try to put Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential seat, after President Joe Biden was seen appearing to wander off during a press conference.
Hanson, speaking on his podcast “The Victor Davis Hanson Show,” noted how Biden’s viral video from Tuesday, where he appeared to stray from a designated path after a speech on climate issues in the Amazon rainforest, could be a sign of his deteriorating mental state. He also mentioned how Harris, who had flip-flopped on left-wing policies she had previously advocated for, was now returning to her “left-wing self” following her loss to President-elect Donald Trump.
“Unlike Kamala Harris, [Biden] said everything he wanted to do and he was criticized in the campaign…But my point about all of this is twofold. He is the president. She said everything that she said emphatically as a leftist. Fracking? ‘Of course I’m gonna ban it.’ She went out in demonstrations, no deportation, no deportation. Guns? She didn’t just say I want to, ‘I want to buy back guns. I’ll go into their house and get them,’ she said. Then she flipped,” Hanson said.
He went on to speculate how Democrats would attempt to jail Trump through one of his indictments and then have Biden step down from his seat in order to hand it over to Harris.
“I said that they would probably try to put Trump in jail and Joe Biden was deteriorating at a geometric rate, would probably be la-la land, and then there would be calls to make her president…I really believe they’re gonna do that. I say there’s a 30% chance that Joe will be, he might not be able to finish his term the next two months,” Hanson said.
While Democrats had praised Biden’s cognitive abilities prior to his debate with Trump, many have since raised concerns over his mental fitness. Republicans had earlier expressed doubts about Biden’s mental state, but were criticized by the liberal media until the debate.
As the media continues to downplay any concerns over Biden’s mental state, it’s crucial to pay attention to experts like Hanson who are warning of the potential consequences.
