Mark Cuban Backtracks Claim That Trump Is ‘Never Around Strong, Intelligent Women’: ‘I Apologize’

During an appearance on “The View” on Friday, billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban faced backlash for his remarks about former President Donald Trump. Cuban had suggested that Trump is “never around strong, intelligent women,” citing his distance from former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, who had criticized Trump’s campaign tactics. However, in a post on X, Cuban apologized for not expressing himself well and clarified that his comments were not directed at Trump’s supporters or employees.

“I apologize to anyone who felt slighted or upset by my response,” Cuban wrote. “My intention was not to attack or insult anyone, but I can see how my words may have been interpreted differently. It wasn’t about Trump voters, supporters, or employees, current or former. And I set myself up for the 6-second sound bite. There are no excuses, I can’t nail every interview. My skin is thick enough.”

Trump himself responded to Cuban’s remarks with a post on X, where he called the billionaire “a really dumb guy” and dismissed his comments as untrue.

“Mark Cuban, a really dumb guy, who thinks he’s ‘hot stuff’ but he’s absolutely nothing, is now out there saying that I don’t surround myself with strong women,” Trump wrote. “Actually, he is very wrong. I surround myself with the strongest of women – with the understanding that ALL women are great, whether strong or not strong.”

This is not the first time that Trump has been the subject of controversial remarks by public figures. Recently, President Joe Biden was under fire for calling Trump supporters “garbage.” His team quickly clarified the statement and denied that he was talking about Trump’s base as a whole.

“Just to clarify, he was not calling Trump supporters garbage,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. “He was referring to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico by Trump supporters.”

This incident, along with Cuban’s apology, serves as a reminder that there is a tendency to jump to conclusions and make hasty judgments about Trump and his supporters. People are quick to label Trump as misogynistic and his supporters as bigots, but these sweeping generalizations are not only unfair but also untrue.

Trump himself has always surrounded himself with strong and capable women. From his daughter Ivanka Trump, who serves as a senior advisor to the president, to former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump has shown that he values the contributions and intellect of women. And this should not come as a surprise, as Trump has a long track record of empowering women in his businesses, with multiple female executives at the Trump Organization and the Miss Universe organization.

Furthermore, Trump’s supporters come from all walks of life, including women, minorities, and LGBTQ individuals. To label them all as “garbage” or “haters” is not only insulting but also inaccurate. Trump’s appeal lies in his ability to connect with Americans from all backgrounds and to address their concerns, whether they are economic, social, or political.

The recent incident with Mark Cuban and President Biden’s clarification serves as a reminder to not judge people based on skewed perceptions and false assumptions. Trump and his supporters deserve to be treated with respect and fairness, rather than being unfairly portrayed in the media. As President Trump himself said, he surrounds himself with strong women and values all Americans, regardless of their gender or beliefs. And that is the reality that the public should recognize and remember.
