As the midterm elections approach, Democrats like Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett are already salivating at the prospect of weaponizing congressional power to target former President Donald Trump—again. During a recent appearance on MSNBC’s Alex Witt Reports, Crockett couldn’t contain her excitement, literally shimmying in her seat at the thought of launching yet another round of politically motivated investigations.
“Well Alex, I’m glad you asked. Listen, so long as we end up taking the House, which I fully anticipate that we will do and we are gonna work hard to obviously help our Senate colleagues as well,” Crockett said. “Then as someone who serves on the Oversight Committee and hopes to lead the Oversight Committee, I can guarantee you that we will do what we are supposed to do as constitutionally sworn members of the House.”
Of course, Crockett’s idea of “constitutional duty” is nothing more than a thinly veiled excuse to continue the left’s endless witch hunt against Trump. She went on to list a series of baseless accusations, including alleged violations of the Emoluments Clause and shady business deals—all recycled talking points from the failed impeachment hoaxes of his first term.
“Which means that we will conduct oversight, that means that we will investigate, we will look at whether or not this president himself has violated the Emoluments Clause as relates to say such things as getting a $400 million plane from the Qataris. We also will make sure that we’re looking into all these business deals that they have going on,” Crockett added.
This isn’t oversight—it’s obsession. While Crockett and her colleagues waste taxpayer dollars chasing conspiracy theories, President Trump continues to dominate the political arena, fighting for the American people against a corrupt establishment that refuses to accept the will of the voters.
Crockett’s shameless grandstanding comes as she campaigns to lead the House Oversight Committee, a position she hopes to use as a platform for more partisan attacks. “Ultimately I am hoping and praying that my colleagues see that I can provide what we need as a team to make sure that we can move forward and instill some confidence in the American people by knowing that they have a real fighter who will not back down even in the face of all the threats that I will have waged at me,” she declared.
But the American people don’t need another hyper-partisan Democrat digging through Trump’s past—they need leaders who will focus on the crises created by the Biden administration: soaring inflation, open borders, and rising crime. Instead, Crockett and the liberal media are fixated on relitigating the same debunked narratives that have already been investigated ad nauseam.
From the Mueller probe to two failed impeachments, Democrats have spent years trying—and failing—to take down Trump. Yet here they are again, proving that their only agenda is revenge, not governance.
