Watch: Merrick Garland’s Farewell Speech Was A Dumpster Fire Full Of Lies!

Merrick Garland, often hailed by left-leaning outlets as a steadfast figure of justice, left office amid claims of impartiality in a farewell speech. Despite being painted as the most politically charged attorney general in U.S. history, Garland maintained he always prioritized justice over political motivations. In his farewell, delivered with apparent emotion at the Great Hall in the Department of Justice, Garland affirmed, “It is the obligation of each of us to follow our norms, not only when it is easy, but also when it is hard, especially when it is hard.” He emphasized the importance of sticking to principles even when circumstances are challenging, suggesting a narrative of noble perseverance rather than political entanglement.

Yet, Garland’s track record, particularly his aggressive stance against Donald Trump and January 6th protesters, seems contradictory. He proudly cited having brought charges against over 1,500 individuals involved in the January 6th protests, justifying his actions as a pursuit of justice rather than bowing to the Biden administration’s pressure. In the context of an apparent crackdown, Garland asserted, “You charged more than 1,500 people for criminal conduct that occurred during the January 6 attack on the Capitol…You pursued accountability for that attack on our democracy wherever it led, guided only by your commitment to following the facts and the law.”

Critics argue the truth inside the Justice Department diverges from Garland’s depiction. While speaking to his staff, he insisted, “The story that has been told by some outside of this building about what has happened inside of it is wrong. You have worked to pursue justice, not politics. That is the truth, and nothing can change it.” However, skepticism remains regarding his intentions, and some see Garland’s tenure as one marred by personal vendettas rather than fairness.

In anticipation of a leadership change with Pam Bondi and Donald Trump returning, Garland seems to be laying groundwork for continuity within the department. He reportedly encouraged career justice staff to remain, valuing “institutional knowledge.” Last month, Garland stated, “You will continue in the department’s mission…to uphold the rule of law, to keep our country safe and to protect civil rights.” He emphasized the pivotal role of career lawyers, heralding them as the backbone, “You — the career lawyers of this district…you are the institutional backbone of this department.”

Despite these affirmations, there are indications that the winds of justice may soon shift. Reports suggest DOJ lawyers are preparing for challenging times, with many hiring defense attorneys. Even before the anticipated Trump administration’s return, media noted the anxiety permeating the DOJ following what they described as Trump’s overwhelming electoral win against Kamala Harris. Concerns over potential legal scrutiny highlight unease among the institutional ranks, suggesting their gardens of justice may face a storm.
